HARRISBURG – Porters Community Fire Company in Heidelberg Township and Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1 in Dover are among more than 130 fire companies across Pennsylvania to receive wildfire fighting grants, according to state Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover) and Kate Klunk (R-Hanover). Porters was awarded a $4,000 grant while the Union Fire and Hose grant is for $2,000.

HARRISBURG – York County Republican legislators are accusing Gov. Tom Wolf of heeding party wishes over the needs of Pennsylvania’s cash-strapped counties by vetoing much-needed election reform legislation today. Wolf’s decision to reject Senate Bill 48 kills efforts to help local governments with the cost of the 2020 election - after he unilaterally decertified all of the state’s voting machines - and do away with the antiquated straight-party voting option at polling places.

HARRISBURG – York County is about to be the beneficiary of a record windfall of more than $485,000 from the collection of an impact fee on natural gas drilling activities in other regions of Pennsylvania, according to members of the county’s House Republican delegation. Distribution of revenue will take place in early July.
