State Legislators Announce Wildfire Fighting Grants for Local Companies

HARRISBURG – Porters Community Fire Company in Heidelberg Township and Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1 in Dover are among more than 130 fire companies across Pennsylvania to receive wildfire fighting grants, according to state Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover) and Kate Klunk (R-Hanover). Porters was awarded a $4,000 grant while the Union Fire and Hose grant is for $2,000.

Tom Wolf of heeding party wishes over the needs of Pennsylvania’s cash-strapped counties by vetoing much-needed election reform legislation today. Wolf’s decision to reject Senate Bill 48 kills efforts to help local governments with the cost of the 2020 election - after he unilaterally decertified all of the state’s voting machines - and do away with the antiquated straight-party voting option at polling places.
