Grove Thanks First Responders as Massive Mulch Fire Continues to Burn

October 20, 2025

DOVER – State Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) issued the following statement as crews continue to battle a multi-alarm fire near Spring Grove:

“As crews continue to battle the fire at the Oldcastle APG Lawn and Garden facility in Jackson Townshp, I want to express my thanks and gratitude to all the first responders who have been working to extinguish the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

“Firefighters from across York County, as well as neighboring counties and Maryland, have been fearlessly working to not only put out the massive mulch fire, but to also prevent it from spreading to nearby homes, forests and farmlands. We are eternally grateful for their efforts. I also want to thank the firefighters who have been transferred to York County station to ensure that there is adequate fire protection.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all first responders who have helped, and continue to help, bring this fire under control.”
