Grove Issues Statement on York City Pension Plan Audit
HARRISBURG – Today, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale released a report on the audit his office did on the York City Pension Plan during a press conference in York. Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover), who attended the press conference, issued the following statement:

“As a longtime supporter of state and municipal pension reform, I applaud Auditor General Eugene DePasquale’s continuous efforts to shed light on the state of Pennsylvania’s pension plans. I would also like to thank York City Mayor C. Kim Bracey for taking steps to shore up the city’s distressed fire and police pensions in the short-term.

“Though local officials can improve local pension problems in the interim, it will take the Legislature to provide a lasting, long-term solution to the Commonwealth’s pension woes. Numerous pieces of legislation have been introduced that addresses the pension problem and brings about true reform. In the waning days of this session, I strongly urge my colleagues to send to the governor a bill that will improve finances at the state and local levels.”
