Deadline to Register for Budget Workshop Nears
YORK – State Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) and Sen. Scott Wagner (R-York) remind constituents they have a week to register for the Taxpayers’ Caucus “Can You Balance a State Budget?” workshop.

The workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Shiloh Fire Hall, 2190 Carlisle Road in West Manchester Township, and the deadline to register is Friday, Oct. 7.

“This is a great opportunity for constituents to learn more about the state budget process and gives them a chance to put together their own version of a budget,” Grove said. “This exercise will also give us, as lawmakers, better insight into which state agencies and services residents find important.”

Workshop attendees will be given an overview of the budget process before being split into small groups and tasked with coming up with their own version of a state budget. They will consider various policy options and will have to decide where to make cuts or raise taxes.

“Obviously, Representative Grove and I, as well as the rest of the Taxpayers’ Caucus, are advocates for reducing spending and preventing tax increases,” said Wagner. “But we are looking forward to seeing how participants navigate the process to ultimately present a balanced state budget.”

Seating for this scenario-based group activity is limited, so those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by calling Rep. Grove’s district office at (717) 767-3947 or emailing by Friday, Oct. 7.
