House Unanimously Passes Grove’s Infrastructure Renaming Bill
11/18/2013
HARRISBURG – Just one day after our nation honored the millions of veterans who have served our country; today the House unanimously passed a measure to honor fallen York County heroes. House Bill 1431, authored by Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover), would rename a number of bridges and a roundabout for soldiers, and a police officer who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

“We can never say enough to truly thank these men for what they did for all of us,” Grove said. “In some cases they lost their lives thousands of miles away from their home. Renaming these areas around York County is just a small way to honor them and their families and let them know their efforts will always be remembered in their hometowns.”

The renamed roads and bridges include:

• The bridge on State Route 3072, Hanover Road, near its intersection with State Route 3092, Lake Road, in Spring Grove Borough, York County, as the Corporal Luke S. Runyan Memorial Bridge.
• The traffic circle on State Route 116 at Hanover Road and Roth’s Church Road in Spring Grove, York County, as the Officer David D. Tome Memorial Circle.
• The bridge on State Route 116 in Spring Grove Borough, York County, as the Specialist Cameron J. Stambaugh Memorial Bridge.
• A bridge on State Route 4002 between Intermediate Avenue and Municipal Drive in Dover Borough, York County, as the Specialst Zachary R. Clouser Memorial Bridge.
• The bridge on State Route 74 between Drawbaugh Avenue and Mill Alley, Dover Borough, York County, as the Sergeant Brett E. Walden Memorial Bridge.

The bill will now go before the Senate for further consideration.
