Grove Leads House in Honoring Fallen York County Soldier, Specialist Cameron J. Stambaugh
10/17/2012
HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives today unanimously approved a resolution authored by Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) to honor the life of Specialist Cameron J. Stambaugh and extend condolences to his family and friends.

“Specialist Stambaugh made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, and he deserves every possible recognition this Commonwealth and country can bestow,” said Grove. “My heart goes out to those who knew and loved him. From all accounts, he had an amazing spirit and a great sense of duty to his fellowmen and devotion to the United States of America.”

In the presence of Stambaugh’s family, the House voted to unanimously support House Resolution 871 after observing a moment of silence.

Stambaugh was a graduate of Spring Grove Area High School who enjoyed motorcycles, hunting and fishing. He had plans to join the Secret Service or the police force after his time in the military ended. He was killed in action on July 8, 2012, by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Members of Stambaugh’s family were present on the House floor for today’s vote.
